Sonakshi feels she still has a lot of time to prove herself!

3 films old now, Sonakshi is having a pretty decent time in bollywood. But all the films and her next two have been driven by male dominant roles. Sonakshi hardly had anything to do with the films except of a few dances and a few scenes in the film. Not just that, even the names of the films were based on the hero’s character. Doesn’t she want to do challenging roles? or does she feel it’s just the start? let’s find out.
“See, if you see other actresses who are on the top today, even they started with four songs and five scenes in their first few films,” says Sonakshi, “I know what my place is in the industry and I am happy to consolidate on that. I don’t know what’s the criteria for others to do films but for me it is all the more important to have an enjoyable experience more than anything else. I have a lot of time to prove myself and am sure that there would be many more performance oriented roles in my future films.”
As of now she is more than happy to play a ‘Soni Kudi’ in her next film, ‘Son Of Sardar’ opposite Ajay Devgan.

Emraan and Vidya’s chemistry just gets better!

Emraan Hashmi and Vidya Balan pair up once again and this time it is to take forward their sizzling chemistry they left behind in The Dirty Picture. It’s been a year since the film released, and now, they will reignite their magic in GHANCHAKKAR.

A source connected to the film said, “There are some real good scenes that Emraan and Vidya enjoy in the film. Many complained that in THE DIRTY PICTURE, none of the two actors could actually go all the way since their characters hated each other and only fell in love towards the last few scenes. Now their chemistry has been nurtured fully in GHANCHAKKAR which is expected to be a madcap entertainer.”

The source further added, “In GHANCHAKKAR it is all the more magical. It is a very different zone that Emraan and Vidya are exploring and the chemistry is very unusual too.”

When asked Emrann how he feels, he confesses saying that it feels great to get back with Vidya after such a long time. “Just a few scenes that we did together in THE DIRTY PICTURE were enough to make people say – ‘Silk should not die, she has finally found true love’. I guess that was the beauty of our pairing in the film when even less was more. Now with GHANCHAKKAR, there should be much more in the offing for audience.”

We are hoping this ‘Jodi’ comes back with a mega hit and entertains all of us once again with their superb chemistry!

Did Ranbir Kapoor try to copy Charlie Chaplin in Barfi! ???

Ranbir Kapoor’s character in Barfi has been compared to Charlie Chaplin as well of his grandfather Raj Kapoor. However, Ranbir denies the news, saying he did not copy the maestro of comedy, neither his grandfather, but just incorporated what his director had asked him to do.

“Chaplin is the father of comedy, all actors who have come in the industry have been influenced by him. My grandfather Raj Kapoor himself was inspired by Chaplin. But I have not tried to copy him in ‘Barfi’, I have tried to play ‘Barfi’ in my own and Anurag Basu’s way,” he said.

Ranbir has no dialogues in Barfi!, as he essays the role of a dumb and mute boy. He says, the film was more of a game of dumb charades to him.

“I enjoyed playing this character. There were no dialogues. I used to go on the set, play dumb charades and come back,” Ranbir said, while promoting his film in Mumbai.

Through out the making of the film, Ranbir had to keep in mind that the audience are able to relate to his character, and the director of the film, Anurag basu, gave him all the freedom to do what he thought best.

Joker at the box office!!!

Critics have slammed Shirish Kunder’s latest film Joker. In fact even before the films release, the songs and trailer of the film did not appeal to them. What’s worse is that the film proved everybody right by making a terrible start at the box office.

The film, starring Akshay Kumar (also co-producer), Sonakshi Sinha, Minissha Lamba and Shreyas Talpade, released on 2200 screens but opened to a tepid 10 to 20 percent response in the morning shows at multiplexes though the occupancy did show an upward trend in the evening. The only sliver of hope was a better occupancy at single screen theatres.

As per early estimates, the film’s first day collections stand at around Rs. 4.75 crore to 5 crore. It is one of the lowest collections for any Akshay Kumar film in recent years. Joker will need to show a miraculous surge in the collection on Saturday and Sunday to be able to survive at box office. Otherwise, the film’s doomed to be a flop.

Meanwhile, Shirish Kunder’s better half Farah Khan too has little to rejoice as her film Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi only managed to make Rs. 9 crore nett in its first week.

The next Friday would see the release of Raaz 3, starring Emraan Hashmi, Bipasha Basu and Esha Gupta.
